Unscreened native soil used to raise grades, fill voids, and shape land.

Fill dirt is excavated subsoil — typically clay-heavy — that has been removed from another site. It contains very little organic matter, making it ideal for structural fill where settlement must be minimized. North State Trucking sources fill dirt locally and delivers it across Eastern North Carolina in single-axle, tandem, and tri-axle loads.

Common applications include raising low spots in a yard, building up a house pad, filling in after a pool removal, or creating a base beneath a driveway. Because fill dirt compacts well, it is preferred over topsoil in structural situations.

Common uses
  • Raising yard grade
  • House pad construction
  • Filling excavated areas
  • Erosion correction
How much will I need?

Most residential projects need 5–50 loads. One tri-axle load = roughly 18–22 tons.
