General purpose dirt — also called native soil — is excavated earth that can be used for a wide range of fill and grading needs. Unlike processed fill dirt, general dirt may include mixed soil types and is priced economically.

It is suitable for non-structural fill, rough grading, and situations where you need volume at a lower cost. If organic content or compaction specs matter, consider fill dirt or topsoil instead.

Common uses
  • General fill
  • Rough grading
  • Land clearing fill
  • Pond dam construction
How much will I need?
