TEXTING IS FASTEST · WE RESPOND SAME DAY

Local routes. Day shifts. Home every night.

Here's how a typical week looks at North State Trucking.

Day Shifts Schedule

Start early, done by mid-afternoon most days. Every driver home before dark.

Local Where you run

Eastern NC job sites. You'll know every road. No overnight hauls, no unfamiliar territory.

Flexible Work schedule

Schedule varies with job demand. We communicate early so you can plan your week.

Equipment

Late-model dump trucks, maintained in-house. You'll know who works on your truck. You can talk to them directly.

Direct Dispatch

One dispatcher. Same number. You'll have it saved in your phone. No hold queues, no routing centers.

Slow Days

When work is slow, we tell you upfront and give you as much notice as possible. If we can put you in a truck, we do.

Sounds like your kind of job?

Takes 30 seconds. Text us and we'll call you back same day.

Or email jennifer@nst-nc.com with your name and CDL number

You already know how to drive this truck.

If you operated heavy equipment in the military, you have skills most civilian applicants spend years building. We take military experience seriously.

SkillBridge Eligible MOS 88M MOS 91B CDL License Conversion CW5 Waiver Program

DoD SkillBridge Program

If you're within 180 days of separation, you may be eligible to train and work with us while still drawing military pay. We'll work with your command to make it happen. Contact us with your unit's SkillBridge coordinator info and we'll take it from there.

MOS CDL License Conversion

North Carolina participates in the federal program that allows 88M (Motor Transport Operators) and qualified MOS holders to convert military driving experience to a civilian CDL-A with a waiver on the skills test. We can point you to the right DMV process — just tell us your MOS when you text.

Military Experience Counts

Time spent operating military trucks counts toward our experience requirement. If your MOS involved heavy vehicle operation, that clock started the day you sat in the driver's seat — not the day you got out.

Eastern NC Has a Military Community

We're 15 miles from Camp Lejeune and close to Cherry Point. A lot of our drivers have military backgrounds. You won't be starting from scratch socially or professionally — you'll fit right in.

The stuff drivers actually want to know

We've heard every version of these. Here are straight answers.

Most days you're leaving the yard between 6:00 and 7:00 AM depending on job site schedule. Most drivers are done by 3:00–4:00 PM. Some jobs go later if there's a late pour or a big site, but we don't run past dark and we don't make a habit of last-minute extended shifts. You'll know the job ahead of time.
We pay by the load, so slow days mean lighter pay. What we do is give you as much advance notice as possible when work is light so you can plan accordingly. If we can put you in a truck that day, we will.
We maintain our fleet in-house with a dedicated mechanic. If something's wrong with your truck, you report it, it gets fixed — not 'put in a ticket and drive it anyway.' We won't put you in a truck we wouldn't drive ourselves. If you come in to interview, we'll walk you through the yard.
If your paperwork is clean and we have a spot, it can move fast — sometimes inside two weeks. The steps are: you reach out, we talk, we run your MVR and background, you do a DOT drug screen, we do a brief road check, and we build your start date around the job schedule. Nothing happens slowly on our end unless it has to.
Regional, not a fixed dedicated route — we're serving construction sites across Eastern NC which changes week to week based on contracts. But you're not going to be shocked by a load to a state you've never heard of. Every job is in driving distance of Maysville. You'll know the roads.
Yes. We don't contact current employers until you authorize it during the hiring process, and we only do reference checks with your permission. Your conversation with us stays between us until you decide to move forward.
